What’s around the IBA today?

An unseasonally warm day in Prince Edward County. One of the reasons for the Important Bird Area designation on the South Shore of PEC was the large numbers of waterfowl that use the waters. Thousands of Long Tailed ducks are there right now. There are Scaup and White Winged Scoters too – and Horned Grebes. All these water fowl are only part of the reason that this is such a special place. Environment Canada has commented that it is the worst possible place for wind turbines. We must stop the development at Ostrander Point – donate now at http://savethesouthshore.org
