Rednersville Radio update

The Rednersville Radio evening was a great success. A capacity crowd of approximately 40 people enjoyed the performances, the wine tasting, the food and the excellent silent auction items.  Bluzone headed off the performances. Martin Soldat on key board and Frank Artes on double bass entertained with their signature bluesy vibe.  The Frere Brothers – Mark Despault and Alec Lunn- use humour and wit to comment on County places, people and issues.  They had the audience in stitches.  Rita di Ghent Rita nailed the Rednersville Radio theme.  She performed excellent renditions of old time favourites interspersed with “ads” for deodorant, baking soda and other necessities. David Somers elicited good natured groans from the audience with his corny turtle jokes.  The evening wrapped up in style with high energy vocals by Debra Tosh accompanied by keyboardist Duncan Cooper. Master of ceremonies, Richard Turtle kept everything in order and encouraged people to bid on the silent auction items.

This event, of course was all about raising funds to support the Ostrander Point Appeal.  I am very happy to report that we netted over $2400 on the evening.  Special thanks go out to everyone who attended, those who donated silent auction items and to all the performers, our hosts at Active Arts Studio, Jeff and Tracey Keary, our sound and light technician, Jeff Moore and especially, committee members Borys Holowacz and Lorie Brown.
