The South Shore of Prince Edward County is a Noah’s Ark of endangered species, endangered spaces and special ecosystems:

  • significant numbers of migratory birds during spring and fall migration (songbirds, waterfowl, raptors)
  • rich and diverse breeding bird species
  • habitat for species at risk, diversity of habitats including; upland, forest, grassland, alvar, coastal and inland wetlands, barrier beach, cobble beach, limestone cliffs, pond and Lake Ontario
